Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work DayIn the Bay Area, this Thursday is Bike to Work Day. The event is put on by 511 as part of National Bike Month. It encourages bicycle commuting, as well as promoting health and environmental benefits.

It is expected that anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 people in the nine Bay Area counties will take this opportunity to bike to work. A raffle is being held, where you can pledge to ride at least once during the week of May 14-18 and enter for a chance to win prizes.

As I do most days, I’ll be riding my bicycle to work on Thursday. I encourage others to do the same!

See you got your new bike today. If you get it put together okay tonight, you can ride it for “Bike to Work Day.” Perfect timing. With the way gas prices are today, every day should be a bike to work day. Enjoy the new bike!

If I had the forethought to get the required tools beforehand, I could have easily ridden the new bicycle today. But, of course, I didn’t.

I’m going to try and make it to the shop today, to buy a hex wrench and some grease, so I can assemble everything tonight. Otherwise, it’ll have to wait until the weekend.

Yeah, a Motobecane Messenger. It was recommended by Charlie, who (I believe) owns and rides the same bike.
