The first ever Treasure Island Music Festival was held this weekend. The two-day event had a dance vibe on Saturday and an indie rock theme on Sunday. I took part in the festivities on the final day.
As the name suggests, the event was held on Treasure Island, which sits in the San Francisco Bay. In addition to minimizing the environmental impact of the festival, the promoters used the beautiful setting to promote awareness of all things green. As part of that effort, Bauer’s provided zero-emission buses for transportation to and from the island.
The musical lineup was incredible. Some of my favorites, including Spoon, Built To Spill, and M. Ward played on the Bridge Stage. A second stage, the Tunnel Stage, featured bands local to California, and ensured there was never any musical downtime.
