Engineering Mechanics (Statics And Dynamics) (EM 219)

Statics: The study of effects of external forces acting on stationary rigid bodies in equilibrium. Frames and machines, friction, centroids and moments of inertia of areas and mass are discussed.

Dynamics: Newton's laws of motion are applied to particles and rigid bodies. Topics considered are absolute and relative motion; force, mass and acceleration (of particles and rigid bodies); work and energy; and impulse and momentum (of particles).
